ACG – Culturally And Linguistic Diverse (CALD) Community Support Grant


Active Community Group (ACG) is a for profit organisation assisting our older community with in-home aged care services. ACG is passionate about CALD communities and we understand the value and purpose that small and emerging CALD communities have within our midst. It is for this purpose that ACG has established a CALD Community Support Grant fund to support these communities in delivering services/programs that focuses on the health and wellbeing of older people.

Grants of up to $5,000 are available for community-led projects that do one or more of the following:

  • Wellness – Establishing a wellness program that builds on the strengths, capacities, and goals, and independent of an older people
  • Connections – Ensuring older people are connected to their community through a variety of options
  • Future-proofing: Through the grant, assist in seeding up a small program that focuses on wellness, community connectedness and social support


Application Guidelines-

Funding will be prioritised for community led projects focusing on the areas shown in the table below –

Programs that enhance the strengths and independence of an older person


Initiatives that build on community connections for the older person


Innovative and creative programs that connects people


Sustainability of the program – on going post grant


Programs that will be community led; consumer driven



ACG Community Support Grant is open to:

  • Charities that are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for Profits Commission (ACNC) 
  • Culturally And Linguistically Diverse Communities. Small and emerging communities are encouraged to apply
  • Not For Profit organisation that hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and have a charitable purpose 

Your organisation does not need to have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. 

If your organisation is not a registered charity or social enterprise with the ACNC, it must have documentation that demonstrates its charitable purpose. You’ll be asked to certify this and upload supporting documentation in the application form.


Applications won’t be accepted for the following: 

  • organisations or programs outside of Australia
  • organisations that don’t have an ABN or those that do not hold charitable purpose 
  • individual applicants or personal expenses
  • programs that do not align to the categories of the Community Support Grants program
  • activities that may be deemed harmful to the community or the environment
  • recurrent costs or continued funding (grants and impact grants are one-off) 
  • government entities
  • equipment, land, rental
  • retrospective requests, general fundraising appeals or commercial sponsorships
  • business as usual activities, including marketing and fundraising activities
  • Programs or services that are already funded through other grants
  • political support or political organisations
  • bequest programs
  • foundations that are grant-making bodies.



Application process –

All application must be submitted by the 30th November 2022 and must be through our online process – Expression of Interest form. Application will not be accepted by email or post.

We will notify successful applicants by email and later send them a grant agreement to sign. This is when we will communicate the timing of grant payments.

Minimum funding is $1,000 and the maximum funding is $5,000.00. Funding must be expensed by the 30th of June 2023 and information about the acquittal of funds will be communicated to successful applicants.
